Jawa

Java is synonymous with coffee. What most does not know is that Java (Jawa) is an Indonesian island between Sumatra and Bali. Jawa comprises of 6 provinces from west to east: Banten, Jakarta (where the present Indonesia's capital lies), West Jawa, Central Jawa, Special Region of Yogyakarta, and East Jawa. And with a population of over 147 million people, it is the world’s most populous island. Formed by volcanic eruptions, it contains thirty eight mountains forming an east-west span. Its geography and fertile land creates an ideal microclimate for growing coffee, usually grown at an elevation of about 1,400 meters on the Ijen Plateu, located on East Jawa province. Jawa coffee is known for its low acidity and smooth with notes of chocolate, nutty and spices.
